Frequently asked questions
What counts as a document?
One downloaded redacted PDF counts as one document, regardless of page count. Previewing detections is always free. The limit only applies when you download the redacted file. Re-downloading the same file in the same session doesn’t count again.
Is my data safe?
Yes. All processing runs entirely in your browser. Your documents are never uploaded to any server. The detection model is downloaded once and cached locally. No document content, extracted text, or PII ever leaves your device.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent versions of Chrome and Edge on desktop. The on-device detection model needs WebGPU, which Safari and Firefox don’t fully support yet — on those browsers you’ll see a clear “browser not supported” message. Phones and tablets aren’t supported either, regardless of browser — their graphics hardware can’t run the model yet. More browsers will work as they ship WebGPU.
What happens when I hit the free limit?
You can still drop documents and preview what PII was detected — detection is never blocked. Downloads are paused until your limit resets at the start of the next calendar month, or you can upgrade to Pro for unlimited usage when it’s available.
