What docscrubber does
docscrubber is a browser-based tool that detects and redacts personal information in PDF documents. All processing runs on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.
Account terms
You need an account to use docscrubber. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One person per account. Don’t share your login or let others access the service through your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to circumvent access controls or usage limits
- Reverse-engineer the service beyond what’s permitted by applicable law
- Interfere with the service’s operation or other users’ access
Important limitations
docscrubber is an aid, not a guarantee. The detection model may miss some personal information, or occasionally flag text that isn’t personal information. Always review the results before sharing a redacted document. You are responsible for verifying that sensitive information has been adequately removed.
Automated detection of personal information is inherently imperfect. Factors that can affect accuracy include unusual formatting, uncommon name patterns, and non-standard document structures. We continuously work to improve detection quality, but we cannot guarantee that every instance of personal information will be found.
Intellectual property
Your documents are yours. We don’t claim any rights over the files you process with docscrubber. The service itself (code, design, brand) is our intellectual property.
Service availability
We aim to keep docscrubber available and reliable, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take the service offline for maintenance, updates, or other reasons.
Disclaimer of warranties
docscrubber is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don’t warrant that the service will be error-free, that detections will be complete or accurate, or that redacted documents will be free of all personal information.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, without limitation, damages from personal information that the tool failed to detect or redact. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Account termination
You can delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends. Since we don’t store your documents, there’s no document data to delete.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice in the app. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
